HarpAdventures

CONGRATULATIONS!!

May 27, 2012
Congratulations to all our wonderful harp students and their amazing families -- this was a great year and the busiest one yet!  In the last few weeks of the year, we gave a Gala Concert and fundraiser at the George Peabody Library; the Bridges harpists performed with strings for a year-end concert and then were the chosen group for a "musical welcome" during the opening ceremonies for a new Montessori school.  HarpAdventures was a huge hit at the Baltimore FlowerMart, and our Mother's Day Concert, the last one of the year, was such a great opportunity to hear each of our students perform as soloists -- they are so professional and we could not be more proud of them!
Our summer schedule has already started and it is exciting to welcome so many of our students to summer studies!  We already have some tentative concert dates so stay tuned!

Wonderful Job Everyone!!!

January 17, 2012
What an amazing group of holiday concerts!  HarpAdventures at Peabody -- complete with special decorations -- was absolutely overflowing.  Every inch of the stage was full of harps and harpists, and the situation for the audience was Standing Room Only.  We are SO proud of the terrific job everyone did (and we will start right now to find a larger hall for next time!!)

The Basilica concert was equally crowded but at least there was lots of room for all the friends and relatives who came!  We r...

Lucky Grandparents!!

November 19, 2011

This last week the Baltimore Montessori School celebrated Grandparents' Day, and more than half of our harpists elected to provide a special welcome in the school lobby "garden"  as all the guests arrived.  The somewhat impromptu 8:00 a.m. concert consisted mostly of practicing for the upcoming Bridges concert, and everyone had a wonderful time.  As you can see, the harpists dressed to match their instruments for this occasion.  Go Team Bridges!

Welcome to All Our New Harpists!!

October 10, 2011
What a busy enrollment season we have had!  Although we have one or two people still deciding whether to begin harp lessons now or at the first of the year, it looks as if our final number will eventually be over 30!!  We are thrilled to have so many talented, enthusiastic youngsters and would like especially to welcome the Bridges group whose official classes start tomorrow!
All the teachers are excited -- it has been so much fun already just meeting all the wonderful families, and we look fo...

New Classes Starting!

September 3, 2011
Within the next few weeks a LOT of new students will join our HarpAdventures program.  In addition to classes from Grace and St. Peters and the Mother Seton Academy, we will have three classes to begin the first year of harp study through the GBYO Bridges program.
There will also be some additions to our faculty:  Jasmine is away for the year in Beijing, China -- she has a Rotary International Ambassador Scholarship to spend the year learning about the ancient Chinese harp called the Konghou. ...

Summer is Almost Here!

May 18, 2011
If you haven't already read the News section, please check it out for a report on our Spring Concert.  It was pretty spectacular and so much fun to see that many harpists playing all together at the end!

Progress this semester has been really good for most of the students and although not every teacher will be in town all summer, most of them are staying and looking forward to some fun activities, new pieces, and even the occasional new sibling who will start lessons!  Please be sure to comp...

Mother Seton Concert!

April 13, 2011
Congratulations to four HarpAdventures students from Mother Seton Academy who recently played at their school's Family Night Recital!

Autumn, LaMya, Taliah, and Tamera gave great performances of their solo pieces. The concert was a wonderful opportunity to showcase their abilities as harpists for the entire school, supportive friends, and family members. Since teachers were also encouraged to play on the recital, Shuang, En Hua, and Cameron played Tryptic Dance. This gave the audienc...

Summer is Coming!

March 28, 2011
Even though we are still looking forward to our Spring concerts, summer plans are already under way!  Many students now have instruments at home -- mostly our new Harpsicles in a rainbow of colors -- and we expect to have a few more available within a short time.  Be sure to get on the waiting list if you are interested!

Also -- HarpAdventures will offer a summer semester, which we promise will be flexible
enough to allow for family trips and other summer activities.  Many of our students are ...
